JLR served as the Prime Consultant for the renovation and expansion of the Performance Centre located inside the University of Guelph’s (University) Alumni Stadium. Originally an open gym space but gradually repurposed over time as a dedicated strength and conditioning space, the Performance Centre had not undergone any major renovations in many years.
The renovation and expansion of the Performance Centre provides Guelph Gryphon student-athletes with a state-of-the-art training facility. The existing training space was renovated with new finishes and incorporates custom-branded strength equipment. A one-storey building expansion, constructed below the existing bleacher system and above the existing visitor locker room area, includes a new artificial turf practice and agility training area.
Other significant aspects of the renovation include upgrades to the HVAC system and building controls, new lighting, fire protection, and various exterior improvements to ensure accessible access to the Performance Centre and field area.
