JLR was retained to complete the design and assist with approvals for the South Countryside Subdivision, located in the south end of Greater Sudbury. JLR also provided inspection and contract administration services during construction, including quality control, reviewing shop drawings, certifying buried pipes and roadway infrastructure, and offering technical support.
The South Countryside Subdivision is a single-family residential development with 62 lots spread across three phases. The first phase, completed in 2019, includes 22 lots on Carlos Way and part of Teravista Way. In 2022, the second phase extended Teravista Way eastward, adding 21 more lots. The final phase, finished in 2024, added 19 lots and extended Teravista Way to Greenvalley Drive.
Each phase involved design work, including lot grading, watermains, sanitary and storm sewers, and multiple stormwater management facilities. The watermain connection at the east end of the subdivision passes under a drainage channel box culvert. Phases 1 and 2 feature a gravity sewer system, while Phase 3 combines a gravity sewer system for one lot with a low pressure sanitary sewer system for the remaining lots.
This project also included traffic calming measures and a pedestrian walking trail that crosses Teravista Way. This important trail connects Countryside Drive to Greenvalley Drive, promoting safety for both drivers and pedestrians away from a sharp bend at Greenvalley, for which guardrails are installed for driver safety.
