JLR Associate; Chief Architect
SUDBURY – A new Chief Architect has taken the helm at engineering, architecture, and planning firm J.L. Richards & Associates Limited (JLR). Long-time employee and accomplished Senior Architect Raimondo Cuda, OAA, AIBC, MRAIC has now taken on the role.
Cuda has been with JLR for over 20 years. He began his career as an Architectural Designer, later becoming a Senior Architect, Associate, and Manager in JLR’s Sudbury Office. He has extensive experience in architectural design for commercial, industrial, administrative, institutional, and education projects, as well as specialized expertise in renovations, retrofits, building additions and technically sophisticated projects. Cuda’s architectural style is influenced by the works of famed Italian architect Renzo Piano.
Cuda explains that he could hardly contain his excitement when he learned he would be JLR’s next Chief Architect.
“I was very excited!” Cuda exclaims. “I’m excited about the opportunity to grow the Architectural Group, and I’m interested in developing business opportunities, continuing to mentor staff, and continuing to provide exceptional architectural support to JLR’s other disciplines as part of an integrated team.”
Cuda adds that his first steps as Chief Architect will be to consider how best to build upon the legacy of JLR’s prior Chief Architects.
“I plan to continue building on the excellent ground work that has been established by JLR’s previous Chief Architects, to establish achievable goals for the new year, and to consider how I can work to continue enhancing JLR’s architectural design culture,” Cuda says.
Cuda explains that the support of his colleagues and predecessors has been instrumental.
“I am very thankful to JLR’s Director of Architecture Georges Quirion and our former Chief Architect Jeff Laberge for the many years of mentorship, support, and guidance they have provided,” says Cuda. “I would also like to acknowledge JLR’s CEO Saverio Parrotta for his ongoing support and encouragement.”
JLR looks forward to seeing how Cuda will bring his own style to the leadership of the company’s Architectural group.
