Your Role as a Mechanical Technologist:
Choose your own adventure! Let’s talk about how your skills, experience, goals, and passions can find a home at JLR. As a Mechanical Technologist, your role will include:
- Working on projects that shape the building infrastructure of our Canadian communities, primarily in Ottawa and Sudbury.
- Working collaboratively with internal design teams, sub-consultants, clients, and contractors to develop models and drawings from concept design to completion.
- Preparing tenders, construction drawings, and various documents and reports for municipal, industrial, and commercial projects.
- Assisting project managers, mechanical engineers, and other technologists with project execution during all project phases.
- Applying fundamentals and engineering tools for P&ID development, and to design piping, ductwork, and other related systems.
- Completing site work and assisting with contract administration during construction and commissioning of mechanical systems.
- Developing, and communicating ideas utilizing a design process and collaboration model that includes a wide range of tools, such as sketching, 2D and 3D modelling, incorporating photorealistic 3D reality capture, and virtual reality technologies to provide graphic clarity.
- Potentially travelling between JLR offices and project sites across Ontario/Canada and around the world, as required, to meet the needs of various projects.
