JLR Emblem
Indigenous Market

JLR has enjoyed a long history of working with various Indigenous communities and we acknowledge that as a Canadian firm with offices throughout Ontario, we have the privilege of living and working on the ancestral lands of diverse Indigenous communities. These collaborative partners have led to many successful and rewarding projects that have provided JLR with valuable learning experiences.

We have learned to incorporate critical cultural considerations from diverse community members, shaping how we create plans for our clients. We understand that we work on the ancestral lands of many Indigenous communities and that this requires close collaboration with community members, Elders, Chiefs, and Councils.

JLR is committed to working towards allyship with Indigenous peoples and communities and ensuring we do our part to foster reconciliation. We have chosen orange as our Indigenous Market colour to honour the thousands of children affected by Canada’s residential school system. Our senior management team has undertaken intensive cultural awareness training, which will be available company-wide so our entire team can meet the cultural needs of our Indigenous clients. We are also working to create more opportunities for Indigenous peoples through our Reconciliation Action Plan.

The Indigenous Market provides Indigenous communities and organizations with greater access to JLR’s engineering, architectural, planning, and project management services. We look forward to continuing our collaborations and gaining even more insight on how to better support our Indigenous clients and their communities.
