Your Role as an Intern Architect:

Choose your own adventure! Let’s talk about how your skills, experience, goals, and passions can find a home at JLR. As the Intern Architect, your role will include:

  • Engaging through all project stages, from the definition, through planning, design, and construction, using your demonstrated abilities to recognize opportunities, understand client needs and manage and deliver projects.
  • Collaborating with team members as part of an integrated project team, including execution, design, and reporting.
  • Liaising with clients, engagement and leadership of the business, and client development activities.
  • Participating in the preparation of proposals, reports, specifications, contract documents and budget estimates.
  • Completing Ontario Building Code and National Building Code reviews.
  • Travelling between JLR offices across Ontario and potentially across Canada to meet the needs of various projects and/or training purposes.
  • Applying the following skills and knowledge in everyday work:
    • Proficiency in Revit/AutoCAD and 3D modelling, with knowledge of primary programs in Adobe Creative Suite and SketchUp.
    • Strong conceptual design skills in 2D and 3D formats.
    • Strong written and verbal communication, along with keen attention to detail and observational skills.
    • A thorough understanding of building envelope systems for cold climates in Canada.
    • Knowledge of materials and methods and their applications.
