JLR has opened three roles for Regional Directors who will provide geographic leadership for our teams in the following areas:

  • Southern Ontario (Guelph, London, Kingston)
  • Northern Ontario (Sudbury, Timmins, North Bay)
  • Ottawa Area (Ottawa and surrounding areas)

You are the ideal candidate for one of these roles if you are:

  • A resourceful, dynamic, and driven professional with at least 12 years of experience in consulting.
  • A true leader of leaders, someone with a personal vision, a big-picture mindset, and a strong, demonstrated skillset in mentorship and coaching.
  • A flexible, collaborative, engaging relationship builder who thrives in complexity and deeply understands the nuanced landscape of their region.

As the Regional Director, you’ll be the primary conduit between senior leadership and your region—coordinating the alignment of markets, disciplines, and managers to achieve strategic outcomes. You’ll use your knowledge of the firm’s financial, project delivery and quality, marketing, business development, risk management, staff management, and human resources best practices to shape and support a high-performance team. This is more than a regional leadership position; it’s a strategic role where your decisions directly influence office success, employee satisfaction, and business growth.

You’ll be supported by a Platinum Club member of Canada’s Best Managed Companies program, 100% employee-owned firm that has a long-established reputation for quality services in multiple sectors, while you take on existing clients, develop new relationships, and deliver world-class, innovative solutions that support community building and growth in our cities. JLR is a creative, tight-knit, and mentorship-focused community with unique opportunities for driven people with tenacity and spirit. Our organization is made up of diverse employee owners with specialized expertise in a wide range of disciplines. Joining the JLR team means joining a dynamic group of innovative architecture, engineering, and planning professionals and support staff. You’ll have the opportunity to help establish new clients and partner with existing ones to develop insightful solutions and see projects through from inception to completion.

If you’re innovative and collaborative, thrive when presented with new challenges, and are eager to take your career in new directions, then JLR is the right environment for you.

Your Role

Successful candidates will have ample opportunity to continue advancing their consulting career in their chosen area of practice. As either an engineer, architect, planner, or technologist, you’ll continue engaging with our clients on assignments through all project stages, from definition, through planning, design, and construction using demonstrated abilities to recognize opportunities, understand client needs, and manage and deliver projects.

The leadership aspects of this role include:

  • Serving as the primary conduit from the VP of Ontario Operations to staff through the manager team to communicate company strategy and other key information as needed.
  • Implementing and executing company administrative processes and policies.
  • Working with the Managers, Discipline Directors, and VPs of Design Services to ensure that staff within your region have the appropriate advocacy, training, mentoring, and project opportunities to reach their career objectives.
  • In conjunction with Managers, Discipline Directors, the other Operations VPs and SVP, ensuring optimal project assignment, workload leveling, and hiring and staff management to meet company objectives within your region.
  • Leading the coordination with the Marketing & Proposals Department and managers within the region to align marketing and communication initiatives and ensure consistency between offices and corporately.
  • Ensuring completion of the annual performance review process for technical staff in your region and supporting Discipline Directors and the relevant Vice Presidents in the annual year-end salary and advancement process.
  • Providing visible leadership and presence for managers and staff within your region.
