Your Role:
Choose your own adventure! Let’s talk about how your skills, experience, goals, and passions can find a home at JLR. Your role will include:
- Working and collaborating with an established, multidisciplinary, integrated technical team of engineers, architects, planners, and technologists.
- Supporting project teams in the completion of underground and surface infrastructure projects in support of our mining and industrial markets, from concept to completion.
- Completing feasibility studies, ranging from scoping-level studies to preliminary engineering and costing.
- Conducting building and structural condition assessments, feasibility studies, and detailed design for various assets on mine and industrial sites such as headframes, conveyor galleries, equipment access/foundations, and various underground and surface structures.
- Participating in the development of competitive proposals to secure new assignments.
- Assisting with the management of workload to ensure that project deadlines are met and final deliverables align with client expectations.
- Mentoring junior engineers and technologists.
- Developing into a Discipline Lead on multidisciplinary projects, taking leadership of the structural design team, driving the overall structural design, coordinating across all intersecting disciplines, taking responsibility for the budget and schedule of the structural deliverables, being responsible for the QA/QC processes, and stamping the final deliverables.
- Assisting senior staff with business development initiatives including managing and building client relationships, as directed by the Mining Market Chief and under the guidance of other senior staff. This requires regular check ins with clients, understanding broad client needs and expectations, understanding upcoming opportunities, managing the preparation of proposals, whether sole sourced or invited bid, and working with the multidisciplinary teams and the Market Chief to prepare competitive service offerings.
