JLR was retained by the City of Greater Sudbury to undertake the preliminary and detailed design, and contract administration and site review services during construction for the upgrades to the Laurier Sewage Pumping Station located within the Community of Azilda.

This project was the first of three phases where the capacity would ultimately be increased to 356 L/s using a phased approach. The first phase involved the replacement of three pumps to increase the rated capacity to 212 L/s and also included full replacement of process piping and valves, new electrical, and control system upgrades, as well as other building and structural modifications, and HVAC upgrades in accordance with NFPA 820. An auxiliary bypass system was also installed on the existing forcemain. Subsequent phases will include the installation of a secondary forcemain and additional pumping capacity.
