JLR was retained to provide a structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering design for a new 58,000 ft2 underground mobile maintenance shop facility at Alamos Gold Inc.’s Young-Davidson Mine.

The facility included a main service bay with five- and 30-tonnes bridge cranes, two service bays with maintenance pits, a lubrication storage bay, a tire storage bay, a wash bay, a welding bay, an electrical bay, a warehouse, a tool room, and offices.

Over a 15-year mine life, the mine is expected to generate average annual production of 180,000 oz of gold.
