JLR was retained by ASCO Construction to provide architectural services for the design of the expansion and retrofit of existing fire station No. 3 in the City of Clarence-Rockland (City), including the addition of a new emergency medical services (EMS) station. This $6.5M project was delivered following a design-build contract model.
The facility is 1,894 m2 in area of which 1,567 m2 is new construction. It houses accommodations for fire station and EMS full-time staff and volunteer firefighters. The construction of the facility had to be phased to ensure the existing fire station remained operational during the entire construction period.
JLR adopted a partnered approach with the general contractor, the City, and other project partners for the successful delivery of this important project for the residents of Clarence-Rockland.
