OTTAWA – J.L. Richards & Associates Limited (JLR) is proud to announce the appointment of four new Regional Directors, dedicated to strengthening our leadership and allowing us to better serve communities across Ontario.
Brennan McGurn, P.Eng., Krista Akerman, P.Eng., Karla Ferrey, P.Eng., and Leeshawn O’Sullivan, P.Eng. are beginning new leadership roles. Each brings proven experience, expertise, and dedication to our organization, its core principles, and its clients.
Brennan McGurn, P.Eng. has been appointed Director of Southern Ontario Operations, overseeing our London, Guelph, and Kingston offices. Brennan has been a valued member of the JLR team since 2012, demonstrating his strong knowledge and leadership qualities on numerous projects in Southern Ontario.
Krista Akerman, P.Eng. has been appointed Director of Northern Ontario Operations, leading our North Bay, Timmins, and Sudbury offices. Krista has worked in Sudbury for over 18 years and has been part of the JLR team since 2022. She is dedicated to working with Northern Ontario communities to design and implement projects that improve their daily lives.
Due the size of National Capital Region and the scope of JLR’s operations, two Regional Directors have been appointed.
Karla Ferrey, P.Eng. will lead the Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, and Energy Systems departments. Karla joined JLR in 2007 as Civil Engineering Intern, advancing to Senior Civil Engineer through her dedication to continued growth and improvement. She will continue leading our teams they develop the next generation of sustainable projects in our nation’s capital.
Leeshawn O’Sullivan, P.Eng. will lead the Structural, Civil, Environmental, and Planning departments. Leeshawn has been part of the JLR team since 2007 and has worked as a Senior Electrical Engineer for 12 years. He will continue to play an integral role in strengthening our teams and aligning our goals for sustainable growth and development in the National Capital Region.

The Regional Director’s will lead and support the teams and managers in their regions, in coordination with other Regional Directors and the VP of Ontario Operations. They oversee the exaction of JLR’s policies, support staff development, and coordinate project assignments to meet all regional goals.
