JLR was contacted by a long-time client for a unique project opportunity in the Czech Republic. MDS Aero Support Corporation (MDS) had been retained to design and deliver three industrial test cells within a new assembly and testing facility for a third-party client. JLR was brought on board to design the facility to house the three test cells.
JLR’s multidisciplinary team of engineers and architects designed the building and the physical infrastructure required to support the newest test equipment technology designed by MDS. JLR worked closely with MDS to ensure the building layout accommodated the test cells and equipment within them as efficiently as possible. An added engineering challenge was effectively addressing all the forces and effects (i.e., structural forces, heat, exhaust emissions, etc.) generated within each test cell that were of a magnitude not typically found within other industrial facilities.
Preliminary design for the entire test facility was completed using a fast-track approach in just three months. This initial milestone was successfully achieved thanks to the team-oriented attitudes and multidisciplinary capacities of both MDS and JLR. This initial effort by the team set the project on a path to success.
