W Dusk Energy Group (W Dusk) engaged JLR to provide engineering services to support their photovoltaic (PV) generation and alternative generation projects with clients. JLR was able to bring a wealth of experience in renewable energy projects to assist W Dusk with a collection of projects for Indigenous clients. This has included electrical designs for interconnection of kW and MW scale projects in Saskatchewan, structural review existing buildings for supporting rooftop PV arrays, and project development support for hydrogen generation from electrolysis powered by PV generation and clean grid electricity.
Currently one of the PV projects in Saskatchewan is constructed and awaiting approval to generate, and an innovative energy generation project has been submitted for funding. A new 1.0 MW project is in the final stages of interconnection approval from SaskPower and will proceed to detailed design and construction in 2022/23. For this 1.0 MW project, in addition to the providing a single-line diagram, JLR completed a preliminary design based on bifacial solar modules to maximize the energy generation potential of the project.
JLR is pleased to provide ongoing technical support to W Dusk and their clients, and thereby use our expertise to further electrical grid decarbonization projects.
