JLR was retained in 2017 by Minto Communities Inc. to proceed with detailed design of municipal services for their first phase of development referred to as Harmony Stage 1, located in the Barrhaven South Community which is tributary to the Kennedy-Burnett (K-B) stormwater management facility (SWMF) in Ottawa, Ontario. Subsequently, JLR was tasked with detailed design of Stage 2 lands that are tributary to the Fraser-Clarke watercourse. As part of the approval of Stage 2, JLR developed a comprehensive stormwater management (SWM) strategy for all the lands tributary to the Fraser-Clarke watercourse to ensure that the erosion targets along the watercourse were met. The SWM strategy provided specific storm discharge targets as well as storage requirements for all the lands tributary to the watercourse, including Stage 2, the existing Fraser Fields subdivision (tributary to Stage 2), Minto’s future commercial lands, future light rail corridor, and the Caivan Communities’ lands. In 2020, JLR was subsequently retained by Minto with detailed design of Stage 4 (lands formerly owned by Mion), which is tributary to the K-B SWMF.
