TIMMINS – J.L. Richards & Associates Limited (JLR) has officially announced that Tauno Ranta will be leading its Timmins office as Manager.
“I am very thankful for this opportunity and for the confidence that the JLR leadership team has in me,” Ranta says. “Managing the Timmins office is a challenge I look forward to, but it is also a team effort to ensure we are successful.”
Ranta, who has been with JLR since 2017, is a Senior Architectural Designer and highly experienced Project Manager. He has over 37 years of experience working on multidisciplinary building projects and retrofits in the institutional, educational, recreational, and commercial sectors.
“My experience working with the JLR team has been very positive,” Ranta explains. “This is due to the fact that our leadership is focused on growing the business and developing our employees to better themselves, and that all disciplines work very well together as one team.”
Ranta will be working closely with Bill Bélanger, P.Eng., .ing, who has overseen the Timmins office since 2015. Ranta explains that he is thankful to Bélanger, who is also an Associate, Senior Structural Engineer, and Industrial & Mining Market Chief with JLR, and to Georges Quirion, OAA, LEED AP, who is a former Timmins office Manager and current Executive Director and Director of Architecture with JLR.
“I want to acknowledge Georges Quirion and Bill Bélanger for their efforts in developing the Timmins office to where we are today and their vision for future growth and employee development,” says Ranta.
As Ranta adjusts to his new role, he looks forward to what promises to be an important phase of growth and development for JLR in Timmins.
“I am excited to continue to build the Timmins office in all disciplines, and our recent acquisition of Porcupine Engineering Services is a great opportunity to develop new business and expand our client base,” Ranta explains. “We would like the Timmins office to provide one-stop shopping for consulting services in northeastern Ontario.”
